Huang

Seattle-based Quantum Consulting Engineers hired Qing Huang and Matt Wion as project engineers. Huang has nine years of experience designing wood, steel, concrete and masonry buildings in the Northwest. Wion has five years of experience on commercial projects, including high-rise hotel and office buildings. Quantum provides seismic and structural engineering.

Montpellier

PAE promoted Allan Montpellier to principal in the Seattle office. Montpellier has spent more than 20 years working on office, higher education, museums and mixed-use projects. His work now includes Eastern Washington University's Natural and Environmental Science Testing & Teaching Lab, which is seeking Living Building Challenge status. Portland-based PAE provides mechanical and electrical engineering.

SRG Partnership

SRG Partnership hired Kip Richardson as director of marketing and business development. Richardson has over 25 years of experience promoting architectural services. SRG said he presents at conferences and has written for national design journals. He also is a musician, and has performed, recorded and toured with artists that include Robert Cray. He will work in Portland and Seattle.

Swenson Say Faget hired Mat Johnson as a project engineer in Seattle. Johnson is working with the multi-family/hospitality group on the Redmond Hotel near Microsoft's campus. He did convention centers, high-rises and office buildings while at Magnusson Klemencic Associates.

Saito has worked in architect for over 20 years, focusing on senior living projects. Kelly is in RFM's senior living studio. He holds a masters of architecture from Louisiana State University. Gabales has over 20 years of design, construction and marketing experience, including several years as an architect. Deaton was a marketing and administrative assistant with West Sound Workforce. Bremerton-based Rice Fergus Miller provides architecture, interior design and planning.

Lohr returns to the firm with over 20 years of marketing experience in the architecture / engineering / construction industry. Snook is a structural engineer with over 10 years of experience on health care, education, lab, office and residential projects. He is working on the Allen Institute for Brain Science. Barlow is a structural engineer with over 14 years of experience on education, residential and office projects. He is working on Gig Harbor Continuing Care Retirement Community. Kruger has been with the firm for 17 years. He focuses on higher education and K-12, and is working on Lakewood High School. He also works on storm drainage for complex projects. Seattle-based Coughlin Porter Lundeen provides structural, seismic and civil engineering.

Tigard, Oregon-based Northwest Engineering Service hired Troy Kunas as commissioning director. Kunas has 34 years of experience on public and private projects, including nearly 10 with Heery International. He is on the executive team, and will also pursue new commissioning and energy related projects.

Luke M. Miller of Triad passed the national and state exams for professional land surveying. He joined Triad in 2005. The firm provides site design, civil engineering, surveying, land use planning and landscape architecture.

Peterson Sullivan said Codi S. Scott, CPA, has joined the firm as a tax principal. She more than nine years of tax compliance and consulting experience for individuals, trusts, family businesses, and family offices, and is a licensed CPA in Texas and Washington.

Department of Early Learning

The state Department of Early Learning said Dr. Bette Hyde will leave as director Aug. 31 after six years. Hyde was superintendent of Bremerton School District.
