Century West Engineering elected Joe Roshak president. Roshak has been with the firm for 28 years. He has been principal-in-charge and senior project manager on municipal and aviation projects in Oregon and Washington.

Hayes

B+H Architects hired Aaron Hayes as a project architect and Amanda Billberg as an interior designer in the Seattle interior design practice. Hayes will oversee project delivery. He has 17-plus years of experience, specializing in workplace design, and worked on Detroit School of Arts. Billberg will focus on workplace design. She has done projects for tech companies in South Lake Union, and was a BIM corporate liaison. B+H is a global design firm.

Glosten

Springer

Glosten, a Seattle-based naval architecture and marine engineering consultancy, named John Springer president — the firm's fifth since its 1958 founding. Springer was hired 29 years ago and is responsible for strategic growth, business direction and client service. He has been manager of the Naval architecture group, operations director and on the executive management team. He replaces John (Jay) Edgar, who will become Glosten's director of research and development. The firm said Edgar was instrumental the acquisition of Massachusetts-based Noise Control Engineering and expanding production design, marine environmental and renewable energy services.

In Anchorage, Stantec hired Becca Carroll as a mechanical engineering manager and associate. In Bellevue, it hired John Gillespie as a senior project manager. In Lynnwood, it hired Nicole Messner as an electrical project designer, Maureen Hardman as a CAD technician, Debra Steventon as a project administrator and Gwen Matlock as an administrative assistant, all to assist the buildings group. Carroll will be a senior design leader for building projects. She has 12 years of experience, including on schools, libraries and the Alaska State Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory in Anchorage. Gillespie has over 31 years of experience. He manages sewer, water, stormwater and facility projects. His experience includes the Port Angeles Downtown Water Main and Sidewalk Reconstruction. Messner holds an electrical engineering degree from Texas Christian University. Her work is focused on health care and Navy projects, among them the new Everett Clinic in Shoreline. Hardman has four years of experience. She works on projects for medical centers, universities, airports and data centers. Her work includes Swedish Medical Center Northwest Tower. Steventon has over 35 years of experience coordinating, planning and supporting daily operational and administrative functions. Matlock has human resources and administration experience. Stantec provides consulting in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management and project economics.

In Seattle, AHBL hired engineer in training Justine Brakefield as a project engineer in the structural engineering division and Craig Skipton as a project manager in the landscape architecture division. In Tacoma, it hired Ryan Kelsey and engineer in training Ryan Inouye as project engineers in the civil engineering division. In Tri-Cities, Craig Becker rejoined the firm as a chainman. Brakefield holds a master's in structural engineering and a bachelor's in civil engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Skipton has nine years of landscape architecture experience and will work on the Buckley park design. Kelsey holds a bachelor's in engineering management from Gonzaga University. Inouye has a bachelor's in civil engineering from Gonzaga. Becker is on the survey team. He will work on Abraham Event Center in Richland. AHBL provides civil and structural engineering, landscape architecture, community planning and land surveying.

First Sound Bank

First Sound Bank said Jon C. Shelton has been promoted from executive vice president and chief credit officer to president and chief operating officer. Shelton has over 46 years in community banking and worked at Washington Trust Bank in Spokane as chief lending officer, and manager of the Commercial Banking Division before going to Frontier Bank in Everett where he managed the Western Region.

Russell Investments has formed a new team within its investment division: Global Client Strategy & Research, which is charged with integrating asset allocation expertise across regions and businesses. Kevin Turner, a 21-year veteran of Russell Investments, will lead the new team.

O'Hare

Central Washington University named Sharon O'Hare vice president of enrollment management. O'Hare is associate vice president for enrollment management and student success at University of Montana. She will focus on retention and recruitment activities, financial aid policy and administration, and enrollment programming, and oversee the Office of Admissions, and the departments of Student Financial Services and Enrollment Communications. Last fall CWU experienced a 21 percent increase in freshmen enrollment. She also worked for Missoula Housing Authority and as a city planner.

Modern Machinery now sells and rents Morooka rubber track carriers. Modern Machinery operates 11 branches in the Northwest, and is one of the largest Komatsu dealers in North America.

Wayne's Roofing

Sumner-based Wayne's Roofing won a 2016 Perfection Award from Carlisle SynTec Systems, a manufacturer of single-ply roofing materials. Carlisle gives the award to a small percentage of its top contractors, based on their history of installation quality and warranty claim performance.

Milgard Windows & Doors

Tacoma-based Milgard Windows & Doors was recognized for 50 years of service and membership with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association. Milgard says its windows and patio doors meet AAMA Gold Label certification.
