In Lake Forest Park, Davido Consulting Group hired Nicole Pellett as a civil engineer, and Julian Adler, Lope Aben and Jun Wang as drafters. In Mount Vernon, it hired Kelly Snyder and Kelsey Miner as structural engineers. On Whidbey Island, the firm hired Alex Pearson and Robert Bennion as civil engineers. Pellett will focus on transportation and stormwater/water resources projects. Adler, Aben and Wang will do drafting. Snyder and Miner will work on public and private projects. Pearson has a background in chemical engineering and will focus on water systems. Bennion has experience in modeling and stormwater management systems. Davido is a Lake Forest Park-based engineering firm.

Interior designer Anita Rossen returned to CollinsWoerman as a market leader in the health care practice. Rossen was a principal at the Seattle office of ZGF Architects. She has led projects for clients on local, national and international levels, including Seattle Children's Hospital and BC Women's & Children's Hospital.

In Seattle, Mahlum promoted Dwayne Epp and Nancy Harmon to associate principal, and Rebecca Hutchinson to associate. Epp leads the firm's quality assurance program, drawing on 30 years as a project architect and project manager. He also helps develop Mahlum's custom Revit tools. Harmon is corporate controller and has worked at the firm for eight years. She oversees financial reporting, budgeting, capital expenditures and employee benefits. Hutchinson has been a project architect and project manager on K-12 education projects for three years. She oversaw completion of Northwood Elementary in Mercer Island School District.

Thrive Washington's board of directors said Alan Cohen will lead the public-private partnership for early learning, starting Nov. 7. He was assistant superintendent of early childhood education for Dallas Independent School District and most recently worked at Commit!, an education-focused nonprofit in Dallas.

Medical Teams International gave its first Humanitarian Woman of the Year award to Phyllis Cavens, MD. Cavens was on the first Medical Teams mission trip in 1979 to Cambodia's “killing fields” and has provided refugee and disaster medical care in over 10 countries. She is a pediatrician and medical director of the Child and Adolescent Clinic in Longview.

Lee Kilcup is the new leader of Rush Commercial Construction, an arm of The Rush Companies in Gig Harbor. The company also announced that Paul Garlock joined as operations manager of the division. Kilcup was president and CEO of GLY Construction for many years, and has been in the construction industry for nearly 40 years. Garlock has 41 years of local industry experience, working with Lydig Construction, Opus Northwest and Skanska. Rush Commercial builds senior housing and assisted-living, student housing, medical, office, tenant improvement, multifamily and mixed-use projects.

He was executive director at the Seattle law firm of Betts, Patterson & Mines, and also worked for NorthWest Research Associates in Redmond and Honeywell. Marshall Morales has joined the firm's Environmental Practice Group. He was an assistant attorney general for Washington state and has worked in land use and urban planning in California and Japan.
