Seattle-based Weber Thompson promoted to senior associate architects Austin Besse, Carey Dagliano Holmes, Cody Lodi and Jeff Dobbs, interior designer Rachael Bauer and marketing manager Erin Hatch. It promoted interior designer Joanna Luddy to associate. Besse has worked on residential and hospitality projects, and sustainability. Holmes helped lead efforts to design a tiny house for the Low Income Housing Institute to house a homeless family. She also is on the Southeast Design Review Board. Lodi works in the office and mid-rise design studios, and advocates for leveraging BIM and virtual reality. Dobbs has done project management, quality assurance, technical documentation and construction administration, and has a background in building envelope issues. Bauer advocates for accessible design. She worked with a fixture manufacturer to design an accessible roll-in shower for multifamily units. She also worked on Raven Terrace, an affordable housing project in Seattle. Hatch is involved in community outreach, marketing and business development. She is director of marketing for the Seattle chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services. Luddy is a member of Healthy Materials Collaborative and organized a panel on the topic at the 2016 Seattle Design Festival. Weber Thompson provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and community/urban design.

HomeStreet Bank hired Joe Jornadal as vice president and relationship manager of commercial lending for the Seattle area. Jornadal has been a commercial lender for over 12 years in this region. He will be working from the Bellevue Commercial Lending office at 500 108th Ave. N.E.

Frazier Healthcare Partners, a provider of growth capital to health care companies, expanded the investment team by promoting Philip Zaorski and adding Ryan Lucero to the Growth Buyout team. Zaorski joined Frazier as an associate in 2012. Lucero was with Kohlberg and Co. in New York.

Herron has nine years of AutoCAD experience, knows Revit, and is trained in mechanical and architectural drafting. He is working on office, residential, commercial, hospitality and tenant improvement projects. DCI is a civil and structural engineering firm

Seattle-based Caron Architecture hired Aaron Blaha as a designer. Blaha has over two years of experience on retail, commercial and mixed-use projects. He is working on 2121 5th Avenue, a 16-story mixed-use project in Seattle. Caron provides pre-development/master planning, architecture, interior design and space planning.

In Seattle, COWI hired Sherry Leigh as business development and marketing manager. COWI bridge engineers Kali Dickerson, Jimmy Chen and Aaron Pettis transferred to Seattle from the New York, Oakland and Vancouver, B.C., offices, respectively. Leigh has nearly 30 years of experience in business development for transportation. Dickerson has four years of experience and is working on Totem Lake Pedestrian Bridge in Kirkland. Chen is working on Brooklyn Navy Yard Pier C and Izmir Bay Crossing Tunnel. Pettis has nine years of experience and is working on the Ohio River Crossing South of Wellsburg to Brilliant project. COWI is a global firm providing structural engineering for bridges and retaining walls, marine structures and tunnels.

Floyd|Snider promoted Jessi Massingale to principal and Stephen Bentsen to associate principal. Massingale is a civil/environmental engineer and oceanographer working on marine and upland remediation and redevelopment projects. She is managing work in Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. Bentsen is a civil/environmental engineer who specializes in stormwater regulatory compliance and treatment, marine/waterfront sediment and uplands remediation, and construction management. He is managing projects in Seattle, Tacoma and Bellingham.

The Walsh Group in Seattle hired Rachel Mroz as assistant superintendent/project engineer and Clayton Ringer as assistant project manager. Mroz started as a trim carpenter working on high-end housing on Lake Michigan, then interned for a commercial construction company. Ringer started in construction in 2004 and has worked for CH2M Hill and PCL Construction, with an emphasis on heavy-civil infrastructure projects.

Michael J. Eakin joined Associated Underwater Service's management team as senior estimator and director of business development. Eakin has 25 years of industry experience and is working out of the Seattle office. Associated Underwater Services, which provides underwater construction services, is based in Spokane and Seattle.



PCL Construction Enterprises

PCL Construction Enterprises was ranked 19th on the list of 2017 Best Workplaces for Giving Back by the Great Place to Work Institute and Fortune magazine. This is the first time PCL has been named to this list. Last year, PCL volunteers built seven homes, renovated a senior citizen's residence and performed other charitable deeds.

Kent-based Novinium hired Michael Pines as a mechanical engineer and Kevin Laux as a field support engineer. Pines is focusing on 3-D modeling and design, and Laux is providing engineering services to the field team and supporting the help desk. Pines holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Florida, and most recently worked at a production facility in Kent. Laux holds a master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and previously worked on a research project investigating the thermal properties of 3-D printed metals. Novinium rehabilitates underground cables.

Bigfoot Crane Co.

Ralf Notheis of Bigfoot Crane was recognized as 2016's Top Corporate Trainer in North America by Crane Hotline Magazine. The award is given to trainers making a positive impact on students, the work environment and the industry through the use of innovative training techniques or hands-on instruction. Bigfoot is based in Abbotsford, B.C., and operates its U.S. division out of Bellingham.
