SPVV Landscape Architects of Spokane hired Jena Jauchius as a landscape architect. Jauchius owned a studio and has 17 years of experience on streetscape, playground, trail, education, health care, public and transportation projects. SPVV provides landscape architecture and planning.
In Seattle, HDR hired Carl Mannheim as a senior hydraulic engineer and Northwest hydropower engineering manager. Mannheim has project and staff management and business development experience. He has 20 years of hydropower experience in water resources, hydraulic and hydropower engineering, most recently with Hatch. HDR provides engineering, architecture, environmental and construction services.
Otak hired Jeff Massie as a senior engineer and project manager in the Everett and Redmond offices. Massie has 33 years of experience on public projects. He was interim manager for Seattle Public Utilities' drainage and wastewater project management section. He is working on Port of Seattle NERA Properties Infrastructure. Otak provides urban design, architecture, planning, engineering and project management.
In Bellevue, Cary Kopczynski & Co. appointed Joe Ferzli and Mark Whiteley to senior principal; promoted Zohrah Ali to senior design engineer and Angela Wang to senior BIM modeler; and hired Kelley Padilla as a controller, Allina Hakim as marketing coordinator, and Lianna Sellars and Rachel Buob as administrative assistants. Ferzli has nearly 20 years of experience on high-rise and mid-rise projects in the U.S., and works on client relations and project team management. He manages the Press Blocks development in Portland. Whiteley has over 20 years of experience in structural design of U.S. projects, and works on client relations and company operations. He was senior project manager on a two-tower project at 2326 Sixth Ave. in Seattle. Ali has nine years of structural engineering experience, including five with transportation-related structures. She is working on NW 14th & Glisan, a 16-story residential project in Portland. Wang has nine years of drafting and BIM experience in structural engineering. She is working on 1031 Walnut, two apartment buildings and parking structures in Fremont, California. Padilla has over 16 years of experience. She does accounting, including financial reporting, general ledger and reconciliations. Hakim works on marketing initiatives with the CEO and principals, and graphic design layouts. Sellars assists the office administrator and project managers. Buob assists other administrative assistants and project managers. CKC is a structural engineering firm, with offices also in San Francisco and Chicago.
Spokane-based Bernardo|Wills Architects hired Matt Mercer as a BIM/CAD technician, Tonya Wollschleger as a project accounting coordinator and Tara Anderson as a materials resource librarian. Mercer has 17 years of drafting experience, and was with Monsef Donogh Design Group in Renton. He is working on a housing complex at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Wollschleger has 17 years of accounting experience, and was with Next IT in Spokane Valley. She is financial liaison between project managers and the office manager. Anderson organizes the interior design department's materials resource library and assists with project submittals. The firm provides architecture, interior design, landscape architecture and master planning.
Seattle-based Rolluda Architects hired Shawn Queen as a project manager and Mara Song as a project designer. Queen has worked on public assembly, health care, mixed-use, civic, government, research facility, higher education and K-12 projects. Song has worked on master plans, mixed-use, commercial, retail and food and beverage projects. She and Queen are working on the Washington State Convention Center addition. Rolluda is participating in the project as a “visiting professional” with LMN, and is co-locating in LMN's office to help meet the WSCC board's DBE outreach goals.
David LaMarche was named executive director for Eastside Health Alliance and Eastside Health Network, the new joint venture and clinically integrated network of Overlake Medical Center and EvergreenHealth. LaMarche has had leadership roles in finance, managed care contracting, health care reform and clinical operations.
Seattle-based Strong-Bridge Consulting and Denver-based Envision Business Consulting will combine, through a majority investment by Bow River Capital Partners, and offer expanded capabilities and a larger geographic footprint. Envision is a management consulting firm serving the Midwest and Northeast.
Tacoma Public Utilities Director Bill Gaines will retire in December after 10 years leading TPU. He also served in senior executive roles at Seattle City Light and Puget Sound Energy. Gaines was recently elected vice chair of the board of the American Public Power Association.
