In Seattle, Mackenzie promoted Chauncey Drinon to associate. Drinon has nearly a decade of design experience. His work includes Bainbridge Island Fire Stations 21 and 22, and Port of Seattle projects. Mackenzie provides architecture and interior design; structural, civil and traffic engineering; land use and transportation planning; and landscape architecture.

Bellevue-based Wood Harbinger hired Mitsu Koshima as a senior project manager in the mechanical engineering group. Koshima has 32 years of mechanical engineering experience. He worked on pharmaceutical, biotech, medical centers and higher education projects in Boston. Locally, he has done projects at Valley Medical Center. Wood Harbinger provides mechanical, electrical and fire protection engineering; information and communication technology consulting; and commissioning.

Seattle-based Magnusson Klemencic Associates promoted Rob Chmielowski and Matt Jones to senior principal, and Robert Baxter, Leif Johnson, Ian McFarlane and Brian Morgen to principal. Chmielowski is design leader for the office building specialist group. He has designed offices worldwide, including towers up to 90 stories and large multi-block developments. He recently worked on 150 North Riverside in Chicago, a 750-foot office tower set on a 39-foot-wide base. Jones is design leader for the civil engineering group. He focuses on public spaces with innovative stormwater systems. He is a member of a William J. Worthen Foundation group that launched the Onsite Non-Potable Water Reuse Practice Guide. Baxter leads MKA's advanced geometry technical specialist team. Johnson leads the wood and sustainability technical specialist teams. McFarlane leads the foundations and concrete technical specialist teams. Morgen leads the performance-based seismic design technical specialist team. MKA provides structural and civil engineering services worldwide.

The Greenbusch Group promoted Dylan Turner to partner. He is associate principal in the mechanical engineering department and leads the vertical transportation and commissioning consulting disciplines at the Seattle office. Greenbusch provides acoustical and vibration consulting, mechanical engineering, audio/video technology, vertical transportation design and commissioning services.

Seattle-based Hainline hired Colton Dewey as associate director of project controls. He is a planning and scheduling professional with over 20 years of experience in construction. Hainline provides project management, construction management, scheduling and project controls services.

The Watershed Co. of Kirkland hired Alex Capron as an environmental planner/GIS analyst and Peter Heltzel as a fisheries biologist, and said Lucas Vannice has become a licensed landscape architect. Capron has over eight years of experience and will support the planning team with permitting, code review, technical writing, and GIS mapping and analysis. Heltzel has over 19 years of experience in assessing and protecting fish habitat, doing fish population studies and providing construction related fish removal and exclusion. Vannice is also an arborist with a background in horticulture and landscape construction. Watershed provides natural resources assessment, mitigation and restoration design, environmental planning and permitting, arborist and landscape architecture services.

In Bellevue, Baylis Architects hired Trinh Le as a job captain and Epaminondas “Nonda” Trimis as a project manager. Le has done retail/commercial projects and is now working on custom houses. Trimis has experience on commercial, retail, industrial, multifamily, zoos, aquariums, visitor centers and custom houses. He is leading design of an auto dealership.

Sarah McClure joined ALSC Architects of Spokane as an administrative assistant. She greets guests and provides office and administrative support for the architectural and interior design staff. ALSC provides planning and design services.

Tanenbaum Keale

Trial attorney Malika Johnson joined the Seattle office of Tanenbaum Keale. Johnson is a partner representing corporate defendants in toxic tort, product liability, medical device and personal injury litigation. She was deputy prosecuting attorney for the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, and practiced law for four years at Williams Kastner. Tanenbaum Keale opened the Seattle office on Jan. 1 to represent clients in California, Oregon and Washington.

CWU

Steve Wenger, director of Central Washington University's Wildcat Shop, was elected trustee of the National Association of College Stores, a trade association that represents nearly 4,000 campus stores in the U.S. and Canada. Wenger was a director of the Independent College Bookstore Association in the past.
