Cairncross & Hempelmann

Cairncross & Hempelmann has formed an Agriculture Industry Group, led by John Rizzardi, to represent lenders and producers involved in timber, orchards, dairies, crops, food processing, fish farms and seafood. Rizzardi has over 40 years of experience with farms and financing. The team will also handle real estate, permits, trademarks, branding, employment and transactions.

Coding Dojo

The Bellevue-based coding school Coding Dojo will open a campus in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This will be the seventh location for the bootcamp and the first in a mid-size metro area with “an undiscovered technology community.” The firm said many employers in Tulsa are looking to fill tech positions. The campus will open Sept. 18 at 36 Degrees North, a co-working space at 36 E. Cameron St. Coding Dojo has campuses in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Silicon Valley, Tulsa and Washington D.C.

California-based Hughes Marino is opening a Seattle office in Russell Investments Center. The firm said it has leased 7,300 square feet on the 25th floor. In a statement, CEO Jason Hughes said, “We are thrilled to be growing our ecosystem into the Pacific Northwest. The commercial and entrepreneurial spirit of this region is at the core of its rapid growth and economic success. Our leadership team understands the importance of bringing the industry's best portfolio of service offerings to businesses seeking tenant and buyer representation.” The firm's website lists Jason and Shay Hughes as handling tenant representation in Seattle. The firm also has offices in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, the Inland Empire region, San Francisco and Silicon Valley.

Local appraiser earns national award

Henderson

The Appraisal Institute named Todd Henderson of CBRE the “Volunteer of Distinction” for our region in June. Henderson is the director of CBRE's valuation and advisory services team. In addition to serving on two AI boards, he volunteers at church and youth soccer.

NAIOP planning two events

NAIOP is holding a June 21 breakfast presentation on the theme of “It's All About the Experience,” with architects Ryan Mullenix of NBBJ, Michael Lee of CallisonRTKL and Brian Runberg of Runberg Architecture Group. They will talk about how demographic changes, tech innovation and a focus on experiences over things are affecting housing, retail and office space design. The event starts at 7 a.m. in the Four Seasons at 99 Union St. Also on the NAIOP calendar is the annual Night of the Stars gala, which is set for Nov. 3 at Hyatt Regency Bellevue. Coldwell Banker Bain announced its new luxury brand called Global Luxury. The company said, “The new Global Luxury brand utilizes sleek, modern marketing materials, breathtaking visuals, first-in-class signage and an improved web presence and reach to deliver unparalleled levels of sophistication and success to its clients.” CEO Bill Riss cited a recent National Association of Realtors study that international buyers are spending $100 billion per year in the U.S. He said, “Coldwell Banker Bain Global Luxury will connect to 750,000 luxury agents across multiple international brands and syndicate listings globally to real estate portals around the world.”
