Sara Rizzo has joined Operation Homefront as the Washington state-based area manager. Operation Homefront programs support military families in the national nonprofit's Pacific Northwest region. Rizzo was a family readiness officer for the San Diego-based Marine Tactical Air Command Squadron 38, and has worked in other Marine Corps community services programs.
Skagit County Board of Commissioners named Jeffery A. Sargent director of the Emergency Medical Services Department, and Douglas J. ten Hoopen director of the Emergency Management Department. Sargent was director of Mountain Vista Fire Department in Tucson, Arizona. ten Hoopen was a diplomat and Department of Defense attache in Madrid.

Cascade Sotheby's International Realty hired Patrick O'Rourke, who will specialize in Portland, Vancouver and coastal regions. He was a VP with Coldwell Banker in Chicago. CSIR's Deb Tebbs said, “Patrick has extensive experience successfully building large, productive real estate organizations and best-in-class leadership teams — one agent at a time.”
The 128-unit Zella is now under construction at 429 Second Ave. W. in Lower Queen Anne. CBRE Capital Markets said it secured $33 million in construction financing. Mollie Means and James Bach originated the loan through HUD's Section 220 new construction mortgage insurance program. It has an interest-only construction period of 19 months, with a 40-year, non-recourse and fully amortizing permanent loan. The family ownerhip is replacing an older apartment building with a new seven-story structure designed by Encore Architects and being built by Graham Construction. Pastakia & Associates is the fee developer. The project used both MFTE and HALA incentives for an upzone, and will include 26 units of varying levels of afforability. It will be managed by an affiliate of Greystar.
Andreas Kaltsounis has joined the BakerHostetler's privacy and data protection team as a partner in the Seattle office. Kaltsounis has 18 years of experience as a state and federal law enforcement officer, consultant and attorney. He was with Stroz Friedberg overseeing the Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles offices' work on major data-security incidents.
Inland Northwest Partners, an economic development and educational nonprofit in Liberty Lake that is focused on eastern Washington and northern Idaho, was awarded a two-year contract with the state Department of Commerce to continue the Startup Washington 365 Program for Whitman and Asotin counties. NAC Architecture promoted to associate Aileen Link, Amy Jain, Heidi Deaver, Jeff Hyslop, Jenni Lachner, Lauren Scranton, Mark Chouinard and Teresa Alvarado. Link is an interior designer working on Missoula International School in Montana. Jain, an architect, is working on the Birth to Kindergarten Center in Tukwila. Deaver is an architect with over 20 years of experience. She is working on Summit West Seattle for Pacific Charter School Development. Hyslop is a designer who is working on Bellevue College Residence Hall. Lachner is the Seattle office's regional marketing and business development manager. She has over a decade of experience in A&E. Scranton is NAC's knowledge and innovation leader, and uses research to help design learning environments. Chouinard is an architectural drafter who is working on Quincy Junior High School. Alvarado is a designer who is working on Tillicum Middle School in Bellevue. Link, Hyslop, Scranton and Chouinard work in Spokane. Jain, Deaver, Lachner and Alvarado are in Seattle. NAC provides planning, design, engineering, and capital facilities consulting services.
Aspect Consulting hired Chris Augustine as a senior hydrogeologist in Portland. In Seattle, it hired Lindsay Pearsall as director of human resources, Fasih Khan as a project environmental engineer, Kaitlin Schrup as a GIS analyst, Breeyn Greer as a staff environmental engineer and Caroline Van Slyke as a senior CAD specialist. The firm hired Joey Miramontez as an accounting assistant in Bainbridge Island. Augustine has over 15 years of water resources and environmental experience in water supply, aquifer storage and recovery, and solid waste projects. Pearsall has over 10 years of human resources management and recruiting experience. Khan has nine years of environmental compliance and remediation experience on urban sites in the Puget Sound region. Schrup recently finished a MS in geospatial technologies from the University of Washington and worked for Pierce County Public Works. Greer has an MS in civil engineering from Virginia Tech and experience on watershed and mining projects. Van Slyke has worked on civil, mechanical, structural, environmental and geologic projects. Miramontez has several years of experience providing administrative, financial and customer support.
Sarcos Robotics, a Salt Lake City-based firm that designs robots to improve efficiency and reduce occupational injuries, said Chris Beaufait is the new chief commercial officer and general manager of exoskeleton and humanoid systems. Beaufait will introduce exoskeleton robots to industrial customers. Ryan Bateman has been named vice president, finance; Kevin Grundy is chief operating officer and vice president, operations; Scott Hopper is vice president, corporate and business development; Kristi Martindale is chief marketing officer; and Julie Wolff is general counsel. Beaufait was president of Asia Pacific-China for Vestas and also worked at GE. Bateman was CFO at Suncrest Solar. Grundy worked on NeXT Computer and Hopper was at Clearwire. Sarcos has an office in Bellevue.
America's Automotive Trust in Tacoma announced that Adam Langsbard will join its national team as chief executive officer. His responsibilities will including managing America's Car Museum in Tacoma, RPM Foundation, Concours Club and Club Auto. David Madeira is now vice chairman. Langsbard worked at Petersen Automotive Museum as chief marketing officer.
