KAVU

Seattle-based outdoor clothing maker KAVU hired Steve Skidmore as chief finance director and Jeremy Goodman as international sales director. Skidmore spent 12 years working at ExOfficio, a Tukwila-based clothing company. Goodman returns to the company after traveling on a long sabbatical. He was Northwest sales director and is now based in Spain.

Technology Alliance Group

Ianthe Andress is the new executive director at Technology Alliance Group for Northwest Washington, a Bellingham-based association. Andress has management experience in the military, nonprofit and business sectors. She was a consultant for seven years, and business operations manager at Bellingham tech executive search company Parker Remick.

Puget Sound Regional Council

Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers and Pierce County Executive Bruce Dammeier were re-elected to the Puget Sound Regional Council. Somers is president and Dammeier is vice president. PSRC develops policies about regional growth, economic development and transportation planning.

U Village FrogLegs

FrogLegs Culinary Academy will open soon at University Village. FrogLegs offers cooking classes for kids and adults, as well as school break and summer camps. The store will also sell party items, cookies and cookie dough.

Empower Clinics

Carly Krivanek was promoted to CFO at Empower Clinics, a Seattle-based owner and operator of medical cannabis clinics. Krivanek replaces Alan Rootenberg, who guided the company's finances from its startup days. Empower recently signed a distribution agreement with cannabis wholesaler Nova Paths to sell medical cannabis products to Oregon dispensaries.

MediaPRO Holdings

Frontier Capital has taken a majority equity interest in MediaPRO Holdings, a Bothell-based provider of security, privacy and compliance awareness training software. Tyler Winkler earlier this year became CEO at MediaPRO. Winkler was an executive at The 643 Group and Dell SecureWorks in Atlanta. Frontier is a Charlotte, North Carolina-based growth equity firm focused on tech services companies.

GrowLife

GrowLife, a Kirkland-based indoor cannabis cultivation products and services provider, promoted controller Will Scott to vice president of administration. Scott has been with the company for about three years, and has experience in finance and operations.

MoxiWorks debuts recruiting tool



Cloud-based Seattle brokerage startup MoxiWorks announced its new Moxi Talent recruiting tool. The company says it “combines agent performance data, highly automated and intelligent CRM capability, and a proven recruiting process.” Eight brokerages have been testing beta versions. Company CEO York Baur said in a statement, “Brokers told us that they need a better tool to help their managers find the agents that best fit their needs, the culture of the brokerage, and then give the manager a system for successfully recruiting them.” Serving over 110,000 agents and 55 brokerages nationwide, MoxiWorks provides an open platform system, Moxi Cloud, for large residential real estate brokerages.

Project at Des Moines Creek North

The Port of Seattle breaks ground today at 11 a.m. on a new project at 20529 24th Ave. S. in the 26-acre Des Moines Creek North. IAC Properties will develop a 460,000-square-foot industrial facility that will employ about 400 people. Tenants and other team members were not announced. The port signed a 55-year lease with two 10-year options to extend with Trammell Crow Co., the master developer. IAC, previously International Airport Centers, now has a portfolio with 3.25 million square feet, and another 1.7 million square feet in development, including IAC Puyallup and IAC Port 167.

Night of the Stars nominations due

NAIOP's annual Night of the Stars will be Nov. 2 at Hyatt Regency Bellevue, and nominations are due by July 16 for project of the year, firm of the year and other categories. eXp expands into B.C.

Bellingham-based residential broker eXp Realty is expanding into British Columbia. Industry veteran Deborah Stevens of eXp will manage the overall effort in Canada, and Peter Pfann will be in charge of B.C. The firm is a subsidiary of publicly traded eXp World Holdings, and already operates in Alberta and Ontario, as well as 49 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. It has over 11,000 agents.
