In Seattle, Stepherson & Associates Communications hired Michelle Huynh and Peter Kitchen as associates. Huynh is leading outreach on projects for King County and the Lower Duwamish Waterway Group. She has 10 years of communications and community engagement experience. Kitchen is leading outreach on projects for Seattle City Light, SDOT and King County. He has six years of communications and public relations experience. Stepherson provides outreach for public infrastructure projects.

Northern Trust

In Seattle, Marc Cosentino was appointed president of the Pacific Northwest region for Northern Trust Wealth Management. Cosentino has nearly 30 years of financial services experience. He previously headed client advisory services for Northern Trust's Global Family & Private Investment Offices in Chicago. He succeeds Dino DeVita, who moved to the Chicago headquarters to become managing director for the West region.

King County

Brenda Bauer was named deputy COO at King County Executive's Office, and will become interim director of the county's Department of Adult & Juvenile Detention when current director William Hayes retires at the end of the month. Bauer was director of the Road Services Division at King County Department of Transportation. Before that, she was city manager for Bainbridge Island and director of Seattle's Fleets and Facilities Department.

Pacific Northwest Ballet

Pacific Northwest Ballet costume shop manager Larae Theige Hascall will retire at the end of the 2018-19 season. Hascall has led PNB's costume and wardrobe shops for over 30 years. A search is underway for her replacement.

Lease Crutcher Lewis

Abarientos

Mariam Abarientos was promoted to controller at Lease Crutcher Lewis. Abarientos has been with Lewis for over 20 years, starting as an accounting assistant and now managing the Seattle accounting department. She also co-chairs the company's lean committee.

Avery

Woodinville-based roofing and waterproofing contractor SR Building Services promoted Charles Avery to service manager and hired project managers AJ Bartlett and Ryan Kiminski. The company is projecting 20 percent growth next year and plans to open a new office in south Pierce County. SR is a Snyder Roofing company.

BMC Stock Holdings

BMC Stock Holdings, a provider of lumber and building materials, is moving its Issaquah operations to an 80,000-square-foot millwork facility in Auburn. The new location, expected to open early next year, will allow BMC to more than double its output of doors. BMC is headquartered in Atlanta and serves 45 metropolitan areas in 19 states. Ted Hopkins is Western Division vice president.

Kopf

Steele

Outdoor gear co-op REI promoted chief creative officer Ben Steele to executive vice president and chief customer officer, and hired Curtis Kopf as chief digital officer. Both are new positions focused on enhancing member experience. Steele served in creative and leadership roles at several advertising and design agencies prior to joining REI four years ago. Kopf comes from Premera Blue Cross, having worked in senior roles at Alaska Airlines, Microsoft and Amazon. He reports to Steele.

Phytelligence

Donald

Glen Donald joined Seattle-based agricultural biotech company Phytelligence as chief business officer, a new position. Donald was vice president of business development at Plant Health Care. Before that, he was CEO, director and chairman of Sonoplot, a startup from the University of Wisconsin-Madison that sells scientific instruments.

AIM Aerospace

Renton-based AIM Aerospace received a $125,000 grant to fund expansion and job creation at its facilities in Pierce and King counties. The money comes from the state Department of Commerce through the Economic Development Board of Tacoma-Pierce County. AIM designs and makes carbon fiber parts. It is moving its Auburn operations to Sumner and upgrading manufacturing facilities there and in Renton.

GameWorks

GameWorks is introducing a new restaurant concept called The Works Kitchen at its Seattle location. The concept — a modern twist on American bar classics — comes from corporate executive chef Tony Leitera, who joined GameWorks in January. Leitera has 20 years of culinary experience and has worked with celebrity chef Guy Fieri. GameWorks is converting restaurants at its other six locations into Works Kitchens.
