Condo case giving developers, builders a big 'anxiety attack'

    A jury awarded $2.3 million to Park Avenue condo owners in a potentially precedent-setting construction defects case. Growth management advocates say the Park Avenue condo case raises issues that could limit future development of affordable housing.

    Dick and Kathy Shanafelt's nest had emptied. Their two children were grown, so the Shanafelts sold the big house in Bear Creek and settled into a new Kirkland condo, built by respected luxury home developer Buchan Group.
