SEATTLE -- Crews from Donovan Excavating started razing the old Red Apple at East Pine Street and 14th Avenue in Seattle to make way for the Braeburn, a 159-unit condominium and retail project in two buildings atop underground parking.
One building will be four stories and the other six. Capitol Hill Development LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of HAL Real Estate, is the developer. Donovan is a sub to prime contractor Compass Construction. Driscoll Architects is the designer.
Miller Torgerson & Associates is marketing the condos, and Edwin Mirsky of Ewing & Clark is marketing the retail space.
Brad Lange, a HAL vice president, said the Braeburn will be finished in the fall of 2005. The construction staging site is south of the Braeburn on a lot set to become 60 apartments or condos. Lange said his company also would entertain offers to sell the property.
