Housing Resources Group celebrated the grand opening of the Genesee last week. The affordable housing project is located in the Seattle Housing Authority's Rainier Vista development, at 4400 Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
The $9.8 million project has 50 units of affordable housing, with 22 for residents with physical disabilities. Amenities include free high-speed Internet and a community room outfitted with computer work stations.
Housing Resources Group built the project with AIDS Housing of Washington. The designer was SMR Architects and Rafn Co. was the general contractor.
Funding sources include the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Section 811 program for people with disabilities, and the low-income housing tax credit program.
