Woman gets $2.1M for Rose Garden fall

PORTLAND (AP) — A Multnomah County jury awarded $2.1 million to a woman who fell from a balcony at the Rose Garden arena five seasons ago.

Tammy Matson, 43, of Vancouver dropped 42 feet, breaking her arms, pelvis, shoulder and some ribs. She had gone to a third-floor smoking terrace during the third quarter of a Portland Trail Blazers-Miami Heat game in December 2002.
