Luxury resort to open in Rhode Island

  • Of course it's a risky time to open a luxury boutique hotel with $600-a-night rooms, especially in Rhode Island.

    Ocean House, in Westerly, R.I., has 23 condos and 49 hotel rooms. The exterior is a replica of the 135-year-old hotel it replaces. Condo prices range from $1.5 million for a studio to a $7 million penthouse.

    WESTERLY, R.I. — Between the private beach and butler service, a new resort on Rhode Island's shore promises to be among New England's most luxurious when it opens in June.
