12 structures will turn blue Nov. 14

SEATTLE — Nov. 14 is World Diabetes Day and so to mark that 12 diabetes organizations and landmarks in this area will take part in the Blue Monument Challenge. The global event is intended to raise awareness about diabetes by lighting monuments and buildings blue.

Among the local structures that will be blue that day are the arches at Pacific Science Center, Century Link Field and Cheney Stadium in Tacoma. Several are in downtown Seattle and South Lake Union.
