An eight-year process to allow taller buildings in the booming South Lake Union neighborhood ended Monday with the unanimous approval of the Seattle City Council.
Developers can now build residential structures as high as 240 feet throughout most of the neighborhood, though in some areas the maximum height is lower — 85 feet and 160 feet — and in one area towers can go up to 400 feet.
