Redmond wants downtown park, the 'front door' for a growing city

  • The city is seeking qualifications until July 31 from firms interested in doing the master plan and design.

    A lot of highly educated people of diverse cultures live and work in Redmond. City officials say a new park will give them a place “to come together and be a community.”

    Over the last three years, Redmond has acquired two acres in the heart of downtown — a few blocks from Redmond Town Center shopping area, adjacent to housing and historic buildings, and within a block of the future light rail station.
