Smith wants new tower as tall and iconic as possible

    Greg Smith wants his newest project to be an icon, not just for Seattle but for the whole West Coast.

    Last week, Smith's company Urban Visions filed preliminary permits to build a 77-story tower at 816 Second Ave., which is where its offices are. Plans call for 400 residential units, 930,000 square feet of office, 80,000 square feet of retail and underground parking for 673 vehicles.
