Sound Transit has released a new report that looks at four locations for a second light rail maintenance and operations center the agency wants to build either in Lynnwood or Bellevue.
As Sound Transit adds new light rail lines around the region, the fleet will nearly triple in size from 62 to 180 cars. Sound Transit will outgrow the current maintenance center in Seattle, which can handle up to 104 cars.
