Seattle developers lose battle over Hawaii signs

  • When it opens this fall, the $10 million Holiday Inn Express & Suites will have a 12-foot sign, not the larger ones the developers wanted.
  • HILO, Hawaii (AP) — A Hawaii County committee has rejected developers' plans to install signs for the Big Island's first Holiday Inn.

    The Seattle-based developers want to install signs for the Kailua-Kona hotel that would be nearly four times bigger than the maximum allowed, according to a report in West Hawaii Today (http://bit.ly/1qlaMRs ).
