Urban Visions has released a new rendering for Stadium East, a nearly 1 million-square-foot office and retail campus it is planning near CenturyLink and Safeco fields.

The campus could have five to seven buildings with about 860,000 square feet of office space and 130,000 square feet of retail space.

NBBJ is the architect.

Urban Visions' Greg Smith said he is starting to get permits but construction won't begin without preleases.

The site is a transit hub at Interstate 90 and Airport Way South, Smith said, with quick access to both downtown Seattle and Bellevue.

Floorplates could be as big as 50,000 square feet, which Smith said is attractive to companies that want efficient and collaborative work space.

“It's different,” Smith said. “It's not a high rise; it's an urban campus that is one of a kind for the city.”

Urban Visions is developing a tower at Second Avenue and Marion Street that could be as tall as 77 stories; an office building in Pioneer Square that will be the new headquarters for Weyerhaeuser Co.; and a residential tower at Second Avenue and Pike Street.
