Sand Point building to become housing

SEATTLE — The state Department of Commerce recently announced a $9.7 million award to Mercy Housing Northwest to convert a historic building into 128 affordable housing units.

Building 9, a remnant of the former Sand Point Naval Station at Warren G. Magnuson Park, will house families, veterans and disabled tenants.
