Report: Expedia will take Amgen campus

SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has scheduled a press conference for 9 a.m. Thursday to announce that a major, publicly traded company with several thousand employees is moving its headquarters to Seattle.

The Puget Sound Business Journal reports the company is Expedia. Citing an unnamed source, the report says that Expedia will move from Bellevue to the 750,000-square-foot Amgen campus in Interbay.

Amgen announced last year it planned to close operations in Washington and sell the campus.

The DJC reported last year that Expedia was looking for between 700,000 and one million square feet. Its lease in downtown Bellevue expires in March 2018.
