Dargey Development and Path America announced the first tenants for a year-round, indoor farmers market in Potala Place, a new complex under construction in Everett.

The companies said in a press release that Potala Farms, ChouxChoux Bakery, BB Ranch Butcher Shop and Fish Market will take about half of the market's 15,000 square feet. Dargey and Path America are negotiating with small artisan tenants to fill the rest of the space.

The market will sell local produce, meat, flowers, prepared foods and specialty groceries as well as kitchen and home items. It will be similar to Melrose Market in Seattle and Granville Island Public Market in Vancouver, B.C.

As a long-time tenant of Pike Place Market, BB Ranch Butcher Shop is familiar with this concept.

“We are very excited to be expanding our services to the Everett community,” William Von Schneidau, founder of BB Ranch, said in a press release. “Pike Place Market has been an incredible home for us, and we're happy that we can grow our business and provide the same quality and variety of meats, seafood, and ranch products to folks up north.”

The market is expected to open this summer.

There will be 220 apartments above the market. The six-story complex at 2900 Grand Ave. will occupy a full block in downtown Everett.

BCV Architects of San Francisco is designing the market, and Studio 19 Architects of Seattle designed the apartments. Synergy Construction is the general contractor. Steve Carlin, a retail consultant, helped plan the market and secure tenants.
