More than 1.5 million square feet of “trophy” office space is under construction in downtown Bellevue and this chart shows why.
Jones Lang LaSalle says asking rents for the best buildings in town — the “skyline” buildings — are about 33 percent higher per square foot than other Eastside office buildings.
Companies today want the best office space they can get, so there’s not a lot of vacancy in the top buildings and that causes rents there to rise faster than in other Eastside buildings.
