REI is opening office in Bellevue

BELLEVUE — REI will open its fourth regional office in Bellevue.

The outdoor retailer will move about 280 employees from its Kent headquarters to the new office at Commons on 90 at 15800 S.E. Eastgate Way in Bellevue.

The Puget Sound Business Journal reports that the first 220 employees will move to the new 48,000-square-foot office in the fall, and the other 60 will move there next year. The office will be focused on IT.

REI employs 1,100 people at its Kent headquarters.

The company is growing fast and is beginning to look for larger headquarters, including in Kent.
