Five-story, 19-unit project planned for a small, triangular lot in Fremont

A small commercial lot in Fremont could soon be home to a five-story, 19-unit apartment building.

The 4,800-square-foot triangular site is at the southwest corner of Bridge Way North and Woodland Park Avenue North. The address is 3860 Bridge Way N.

The property owners, Jeff and Carey Steingraber, are developing the project.

They'll tear down the existing building, a two-story office structure from which the Steingrabers run a mortgage and realty business. They purchased the property in 2008 for $581,000, according to King County records.

The proposed building would have a concrete base, metal siding and lots of glass on the south- and east-facing sides.

Four street-level commercial spaces would total 2,900 square feet.

Residents will have access to a 1,000-square-foot roof deck and a smaller deck on the third level. No parking is planned.

KO Architecture is the designer. Owner and Principal Kevin O'Leary said the project has completed the Seattle's design review process, and is scheduled for building permit intake at the end of June.

Other design team members are GeoDimensions, surveyor; PanGeo, geotech engineer; Davido Consulting Group, civil engineer; Root of Design, landscape architect; and Swenson Say Faget, structural engineer.
