SEATTLE — REI's Spring District headquarters in Bellevue could start at 200,000 square feet, with the possibility of expansion, according to a quarterly report from real estate firm Kidder Mathews.
REI said in March it had a non-binding agreement with Wright Runstad & Co. to buy about eight of the 36 acres in the Spring District for its new headquarters.
The company said it has outgrown its 170,000-square-foot headquarters in Kent.
REI said it will decide by the end of the summer whether to build a Spring District campus.
REI representatives did not return a request for comment.
REI is working with Wright Runstad, NBBJ, Heartland LLC and Hornall Anderson on the project.
