A Bellevue co-working company called extraSlice will open a new office for tech startups on June 1 in Benaroya I-90 South, an office building at 3600 136th Pl. S.E.

ExtraSlice said it will take 16,000 square feet on one floor of the four-story 79,904-square-foot structure.

In 2014, extraSlice opened its first co-working space at 2375 130th Ave. N.E. All 3,200 square feet was full within six months, so extraSlice decided to move to a bigger space at Benaroya.

ExtraSlice was founded by Binu Reghunathan and Meghana Subramanian, both veterans of the startup world. They said in a press release that the new space will allow extraSlice to disrupt the already disruptive field of coworking by creating a collaborative “village” for startups. It will come with services such as marketing, funding and leadership resources, as well as training programs for people switching careers and help for companies that want to open remote offices.

Spaces will be flexible and can be customized for companies with up to 50 employees.

“A lot of our startup clients are looking for flexible lease options, with low startup costs, in a cool tech environment as they are figuring out future headcount projections. Until now, Bellevue has lacked this type of space,” said Bryan Oliver of Washington Partners Corporate Real Estate, a broker who helped extraSlice find the space.

ExtraSlice wants to expand here and nationwide, but will gauge the response to its new space before moving ahead with others.

ExtraSlice will hold a startup pitch event June 16 that will lead to a “Shark Tank”-like presentation to venture funders.
