Tacoma will move ice rink location

TACOMA — The city said the ice rink at Tollefson Plaza will temporarily move this winter to Point Ruston's Grand Plaza while the city looks at options for entertainment at the plaza that will help attract visitors to downtown.

The city said in a press release that Tollefson Plaza is too small and the surface is not suitable for an ice rink. City staff will get ideas from the community and analyze ice rink locations, contracting, expenses and sponsorships.
