Matt Griffin of Pine Street Group said he’s hoping to start construction by the end of June on the $1.6 billion Washington State Convention Center expansion — adding 1.4 million square feet, and roughly doubling the amount of exhibition space.
Speaking at a Downtown Seattle Association breakfast event on Friday, Griffin said starting in June will require clearing a few administrative hurdles. Griffin said he expects to have his first meeting with the Seattle City Council transportation committee on April 3, followed by a committee vote as soon as May 1.
