SEATTLE — The city is seeking applicants interested in developing 70-100 units of housing for homeless people, as well as a ground-floor cultural space near Seattle Center.
The site, at 607 Second Ave. N., is next to the former Teatro ZinZanni building.
A public workshop to discuss potential arts and culture uses is scheduled for 4-6:30 p.m. March 21 in the Cornish Playhouse lobby at 201 Mercer St.
The city will issue a request for interest in the coming weeks. A request for proposals will follow sometime after April.
The City Council passed a bill in February to transfer jurisdiction of the 11,000-square-foot parcel from Seattle Center to the city's Office of Housing, which will provide funding for the development.
