MARYSVILLE — The city wants a developer to buy a 15-acre waterfront parcel for new housing, retail and recreation space. It also wants to lease or sell four nearby retail lots for recreational, entertainment or boutique retail uses.
The sales are part of a two-phase plan to redevelop industrial property along the Ebey Slough waterfront. The city opened Ebey Waterfront Park at First Avenue and State Street in 2005, and is planning more public improvements.
A concept plan shows several clusters of three- to five-story residential buildings with retail, courtyards and structured parking. It also shows several small standalone office and retail buildings.
Qualifications are due by 4 p.m. Thursday. See the ad in the May 22 DJC for details or check the Marysville website at http://bit.ly/2HEvOV9.
A second-phase build-out could take place between 2020 and 2030, depending on the results of the first-phase work.
