The century-old Tacoma Elks Lodge is undergoing a $34 million renovation by Ankrom Moisan, Andersen Construction and owner McMenamins. It's scheduled to open next year with 44 hotel rooms, a live music space, three restaurants and McMenamins brewery. You can tour the property as part of CREWs' South Sound mixer at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. The lodge is at 565 Broadway, downtown. Remember to dress for an active job-site visit (pants, sturdy shoes, etc.). Leading the procession will be George Signori from Ankrom Moisan and JJ Jordan from Andersen. After the tour, the mixer will be at Wooden City pub. Details and registration: crewseattle.org.
