Marysville has more than 1,000 acres of under-used industrial land, and city administrator Gloria Hirashima has a plan she thinks will entice companies to develop it.
Odd as it sounds, she wants to do what some Washington cities did in the 1990s to spur housing construction: get the state to let them temporarily exempt new development from property taxes.
