The Washington State Convention Center's Public Facilities District just bought 2 acres of land where it could build a $650 million expansion, but a decision on whether to add another one million square feet is still a ways off.
The convention center paid $56.45 million for a site bordered by Ninth and Boren avenues, Howell Street and Olive Way as well as parcels on the southeast and southwest corners of Boren and Olive. Much of the property is occupied by a Honda dealership.
