On the Block: Two local private schools look at sharing a new space on site in the Rainier Valley
Redevelopment plans have finally emerged for the coveted full-block Imperial Lanes site at 2101 22nd Ave. S. in the Rainier Valley. And — surprise! — it's not going to be townhouses.
For 56 years, the site was home to Imperial Lanes bowling alley, which closed in 2015. The 64,000-square-foot property sold last November for $6.5 million (or $101 per square foot). The block is also bounded by 21st Avenue South, and South Hill and South Walker streets.
