Joseph Abreu joins LIHI board

Joseph Abreu, store manager of Home Depot in Bellevue, has joined the Low Income Housing Institute board. Abreu is this region's “community captain” for Home Depot Foundation, which focuses on housing for veterans. LIHI owns and manages more than 50 complexes with 1,700 apartments in six counties.

Frachiseur named Envoy Mortgage VP

Envoy Mortgage, a Houston-based mortgage bank, hired Keith Frachiseur to the new position of Pacific Northwest regional vice president. Frachiseur has more than 25 years of experience, and was president of Bellevue-based mortgage bank Axia Financial. He was also on the Washington State Mortgage Brokerage Commission and president of the Washington Association of Mortgage Brokers.

Seattle Public Theater's new office

Seattle Public Theater moved its offices to the historic University Christian Church at 4759 15th Ave. N.E. The theater has two offices on the second floor and shares 1,750 square feet of rehearsal space with Seattle Choral Company. Matthew Richter, cultural space liaison at Seattle's Office of Arts and Culture, brokered the deal for Seattle Public Theater.

Snohomish County housing committee

Snohomish County is looking for two members to serve on its housing and community development technical advisory committee. The committee wants one person to represent minority groups and one to represent low-income groups. The committee reviews applications for affordable housing, public facilities and public service projects that benefit low-income and homeless people. Towne now leasing on Queen Anne

Towne recently sold for $51 million.

Towne, a 107-unit apartment building on Queen Anne that will have Trader Joe's on the ground floor, has started leasing. Towne is at 1900 Queen Anne Ave. N. and was developed by Emerald Bay Equity.

Emerald Bay recently sold the building for $51 million to Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management, also known as RREEF.

Towne was designed by Tiscareno Associates, and Charter Construction was the general contractor. Greystar is the property manager.

Trader Joe's is moving to Towne in August from its current location at 112 W. Galer St.

Master Builders housing talk July 16

The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties will hold a reception to discuss the shortage of affordable housing and how that affects the economy at 4 p.m. July 16 at 335 116th Ave. S.E. in Bellevue. NAIOP tour of Capitol Hill July 17

The Washington chapter of NAIOP is offering a tour of some of Capitol Hill's newest projects July 17. There will be a lunch and panel discussion followed by a walking tour of the neighborhood. The panel begins at 11:30 a.m. at Northwest School, 401 E. Pike St. The tour will focus on new projects, and how the neighborhood can keep its culture while integrating new development.
