Leica opens in Bel Square

Leica Camera will open an 800-square-foot store in Bellevue Square this weekend.

It will sell German cameras and gear, and have space for lectures and workshops.

Leica is offering tours and workshops this weekend.







Kidder Mathews buys San Diego firm

Kidder Mathews of Seattle has acquired StepStone Real Estate Services, a San Diego-based firm that manages more than 600,000 square feet of retail, office and mixed-use properties. StepStone founders Jack Naliboff, Kathy Giraldo Carlson and Mark Vallecorsa, and four other employees will join Kidder Mathews. Kidder Mathews expanded to Southern California in January when it opened a San Diego office. It has three offices in the San Francisco Bay area, one in Portland and five in Washington.

HomeStreet starts commercial lending

HomeStreet Bank has started HomeStreet Commercial Capital, a new lending service that will provide permanent financing for projects up to $10 million, including multifamily, industrial, retail, office, mobile home parks and self-storage facilities. The 14-person team is based in Orange County, California, and led by Bill Endresen. Endresen last worked at Impac Commercial Capital, and has more than 40 years of experience in commercial real estate.

Matt O'Brien joins JLL industrial team

Jones Lang LaSalle named Matt O'Brien executive vice president of its regional industrial team. O'Brien will work out of the Seattle office with Chris Spofford and Casey Trees. He has more than 11 years of commercial real estate experience, and last worked at CBRE. O'Brien was named a CoStar Power Broker six of the last seven years. Before getting into real estate, he was a professional baseball player who made it to the Triple A level in the Oakland Athletics organization. JLL said it has 58,000 employees in 230 offices worldwide.

Quadrant launches mortgage service

Bellevue-based Quadrant Homes said it is using a new mortgage lender called TRI Pointe Connect, which is a joint venture between Quadrant's parent company, TRI Pointe Group, and imortgage. TRI Pointe Connect is available in Washington and Arizona, and it will soon expand to six other states. Quadrant Homes and four other builders became part of TRI Pointe Group as part of its 2014 merger with Weyerhaeuser Real Estate Co. Quadrant Homes is a 46-year-old company with projects in King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, Kitsap and Skagit counties.

Online retailer opens in U Village

Oiselle, a Seattle-based online company that sells women's athletic apparel, will open its first store at University Village this summer. Oiselle hired Katie Woodruff to direct retail operations. Woodruff has more than 15 years experience as a merchant, buyer and retail manager. Oiselle said in a press release that having a brick-and-mortar store will broaden its customer base.
