DCT Industrial Trust

DCT Industrial Trust said it has executed over 1 million square feet of development leases in Seattle in the last 60 days. DCT said its Seattle team executed eight leases in six buildings, bringing the development portfolio to 84 percent leased. It said the deals include two pre-leases for 325,000 square feet in buildings now under construction. Patrick Gemma is senior vice president of DCT. It specializes in bulk distribution and light industrial properties.

Tarragon Property Services

Tarragon Property Services in Sumner has added the Yardi ResidentShield Protection Plan to its Yardi Voyager property management and accounting system as part of a required renters insurance program at its properties. Yardi said in a press release that Tarragon will require renters insurance to mitigate property risks. Shelly Gil, multifamily regional manager for Tarragon, said the system is easy to use. Tarragon provides tablets in onsite rental offices so people can apply for a rental unit and purchase renters insurance at the same time. Tarragon Property Services manages over 2,800 multifamily units.

KBS Real Estate Investment Trust

KBS Real Estate Investment Trust, a non-traded real estate investment trust based in Newport Beach, California, said it has renewed a 17,817-square-foot lease with Applied Speciation & Consulting at North Creek Parkway Center in Bothell. North Creek Parkway Center is a six-building campus with office, laboratory and warehouse space. Applied is a testing and consulting laboratory.

Chavez new VP at Associa EMB

Associa EMB Management of Bellevue named Susan Chavez vice president of operations. Chavez has worked at Associa EMB in the past and has more than 14 years of experience. Associa EMB's new president, Nicole Washington, said Chavez is part of the firm's new leadership team. Associa EMB Management is an affiliate of the Dallas-based housing management company Associa, which has more than 9,000 employees in 170 offices in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, United Arab Emirates and South Africa.

Council candidates at NAIOP
