Project description: Construct two new influent bar screens, grit handling structure modifications, including addition of three new rotary screw dewatering machines, new grit classifiers, and various structural, piping and electrical modifications.
Modify the south primary treatment structure, including adding new sludge collectors, new scum collectors, new scum pumps, and various structural, piping and electrical modifications. Extend the new mixed-liquor channel, and the return activated sludge (RAS) channel.
Construct secondary sedimentation pod No. 6, which includes four 100-foot-diameter secondary sedimentation tanks, eight new RAS pumps, and associated channels and effluent flow control facilities. Modify the chlorine building, including two new chlorine neutralizing scrubbers, standby chlorination facilities and new post chlorination equipment.
Work also includes all associated piping, valves, heating, ventilating and cooling systems, electrical power, instrumentation and control systems, connections to the existing plant and storm drainage systems, outside piping, grading, paving, and interior and exterior demolition.
