Ballard High School

Ballard High School

Ballard High School

Project description: Demolish the existing 1914 Ballard High School and build a new 240,000-square-foot school with steel framing and masonry veneer. The new two-story building will feature 65 classrooms. Its design will reflect the school's emphasis on science and technology education. Several design elements from the old school will be incorporated into the new facility, including a precast belt replicating the terra cotta bandcourse and pre-finished metal panels with a terra cotta look. Also, copper panels used around the windows of the old building will be re-installed in the new facility. It is projected that 1,600 students will initially attend the school.
