Ingraham High School addition

Two floors of classrooms were added at Ingraham High School.

Location: Seattle
Architect: Integrus Architecture
Agency/owner: Seattle Public Schools
General contractor: Bayley Construction

Ingraham’s addition included a 10,000-square-foot space for the school’s international baccalaureate program and additional classrooms, built adjacent to the existing building.

The classroom addition continues the organizational scheme of the existing building by extending the corridors, forming an interior courtyard. The topography of the site allows the addition to provide two floors of classrooms facing this new communal space.

An open stair at the southwest corner of the building forms a new entry point and is integrated with a tiered seating area, creating a forum-like space designed for both casual interaction and formal presentations.
