Mom’s Pharmacy is located in the eclectic and diverse Capitol Hill neighborhood. The project’s objective was to rebuild a dark and dingy 1,941-square-foot basement into an AIDS/HIV specialty retail pharmacy, education and patient consultation center. By maintaining the building’s original exposed concrete walls, wood ceiling and beams, the new space reflects the originality and style of the building and surrounding community. Vintage furnishings were used and contrasted with contemporary color, trim and tile throughout the space. The combination creates an aesthetically pleasing and functional space for both employees and patients to enjoy.
