Aecon built this 85-room hotel adjacent to the Clearwater Casino on the Kitsap Peninsula.

The Clearwater Resort Hotel is situated on a bluff overlooking Agate Pass amidst salmon spawning streams and eagle nesting trees. It was imperative that precautions be taken to protect the salmon creek, geoduck beds and eagle nesting trees from construction activities. The project was successful in protecting the adjoining water habitats, preserving all nesting trees and replacing trees that could potentially become nesting trees.

Aecon was involved in promoting tribal labor though a job fair it sponsored. The company provided Construction Industry Training Council of Washington skills evaluations for tribal members and offered CITC paid training and employment to qualifying applicants.

Working closely with project partners, Aecon managed construction without interruption to the adjacent casino, which operates 24 hours a day on the weekends.

The project had no lost-time injuries.
