The owners of the Harmony House in Lakewood originally wanted a cut sandstone patio, but became convinced of the aesthetic possibilities and durability of sealed and colored concrete.

The patio is a field of Ashler cut slate stamped with borders of textured stone. The exterior colors of the house are enhanced with the addition of integral color Mesa buff (made by Davis Colors) to the concrete. A golden sandstone release agent offers a striking contrast over the entire field and border. Five different colors were placed in predetermined locations to achieve the desired contrast.
