DECORATIVE PAVING -- RESIDENTIAL

With eight projects competing for top honors, this category had the most entries. The list includes: the Talley residence, the Gula residence, the Hansen residence, the Achen estate, the Tutmarc residence, the Smith residence, the Berry residence and a "Romantic chateau."

The winner, with four first place votes, was the Gula estate. The Berry residence was second, followed closely by the Smith residence.

The Gula estate features a circular drive in the front with 2-foot brushed border bands of gray color highlighting floating panels of stamped green and gray concrete.

The pattern is carried to the rear of the home in a full-length, terraced patio. The terrace steps down to the yard level and features a 180-degree radiused stairway accented with brushed tread and risers.

The Berry residence uses colored, embossed concrete. It features a cast-in-place concrete foot bridge, porch, walk and borders that are all embossed with an Ashler slate pattern in a terra cotta color.
