Roosevelt Square is a three-story retail redevelopment of an entire Seattle city block.

The project included the construction of a 68,000-square-foot underground parking garage; a 50,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market on the main level; a parking deck; additional retail and a 16,000-square-foot Bartells Drugs on the upper level.

All of this was wrapped around an existing, 80-year-old, three-story structure currently housing a Dania furniture store. The Dania store remained open during the construction of the larger project.

J. R. Abbott had to find various solutions to keep the Dania store open, including designing and building freight and ramp systems that were able to be moved as needed.
