Reid Middleton
Reid Middleton has continued to grow, as it did in 1999, but at a slightly slower rate. Current staff size is about 110, reflecting a 10 percent increase from year-end 1999. Anticipated gross fees are in excess of $12.3 million. New business has been particularly strong in structural design for buildings, both in the Everett home office and in the Anchorage office. A Portland office was opened last year. Reid Middleton is a civil and structural engineering, planning and surveying firm providing services for airport facilities, transportation, utilities, site development, buildings and marine facilities. This year’s projects include Mountain View Business Centre in Everett, built on the site of a reclaimed gravel pit for CSR Associated in Everett. The firm also worked on the Sawmill Cove industrial site in Sitka, the historic Grays Harbor County Courthouse seismic retrofit; the main runway safety area for Paine Field in Everett; a traffic analysis and study at North Air Cargo Road, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport; a U.S. Naval acoustic research support facility on Lake Pend Orielle in Idaho; and civil and traffic engineering for the Interstate-5 196th Street Interchange in Lynnwood. At the University of Alaska, Reid Middleton is at work on structural elements of a new library expansion. “Nearly every assignment we undertake draws on more skills and resources than ever before — be it permitting assistance, financing, public participation or the integration of more traditional design skills,” said executive vice president Paul Masten. |
